All bundled up!

Mission: trying to charm his toys.. Or something.

Oliver is smiling and waving his hands incessantly and talking to his toys. It is good that he can entertain himself for a while and not depend on me every second of the day, like he did last week..

In full ski gear!

It is so cold that a walk without putting on my whole skiing gear is impossible.

Marta, aka the duck lady.

We are out on a winter walk in Huvudsta and after a pause at Pampas marina Marta has some bread for the ducks and her son, Manfred, is enjoying the sight.

Cozy!

I can't get enough of Oliver's baby smell and I am constantly sniffing his little head.. With the snow outside and my Christmasy home it is so nice to just sit here on the sofa, holding Oli and taking it all in.

Erik and his toys..

Remember that Erik got his motorcycle stolen this spring? Well, to get back some of the money from the insurance company he had to buy a new one, and that was exactly what he did today. He is so happy that he again is an owner of a bike and is now totally focused at learning all about his new toy.

First of Advent

I am lighting the first candle in my home made arrangement. Today Cat came by earlier and kept us company and we talked about the party she went to on Friday. Erik and I were supposed to go but we ran into some baby sitting problems and had to stay home. I was a little tired after yesterday and it was snowing outside again so we stayed in and talked. This evening was spent at Eriks' parents who made us a proper Christmas dinner since they are going away for the holidays. It was so nice to eat all that yummy food!

In training!

Babies are supposed to lay on their stomachs when awake to strengthen their back. Up until now Oliver has started to scream the second I have put him on his tummy, but today he liked it! I think he was frustrated before when it was a struggle for him to hold his head up, but now as it is easier, it is fun.

After all that play..

..he needs some sleep. He is in some kind of development stage this week and therefore everything is a bit tough and scary, so he makes sure that he is resting in a safe place; my lap.

Oliver, 12 weeks old today.

He has recently discovered that he controls his own hands and is now fascinated with them. He holds them, strokes them and his own face with them and looks at them. Who needs other toys when you have hands? :-)

..and Frida!

We finally managed to book these two busy bees for a night in our company and we had a great time!

Saturday night, dinner at home with Mårten..

..and back to the "coal mine"..

Having breakfast in our robes..

Multitasking

It was great to finally be a little pampered at the hair dresser, but my duties remained the same since I had no one who could baby sit.

Chilly..

On our way to the hair dresser's yesterday. The snow makes everything brighter but it also makes it difficult to push the stroller. All the clothes we have to put on is also annoying.

In dire need of a facial, a tan and a little "me time"..

On top of that, Oliver refuses to sleep anywhere else than on me today. It is weird but I give in to his wishes since that is the only way to make him content.

Top of the morning to ya'!

This is what expectation looks like.. Breakfast is awaiting.

No win this time. Sorry dad!

I got a package today from mom and dad containing a body of Oliver's that I had forgotten there. Dad also sent us a scratchcard and a good luck wish. Unfortunately we didn't win any money this time, but it was a sweet gesture. Thanks!

Frosty outside.

It is so pretty! I am starting to get that warm and fuzzy christmasy feeling and I get all happy. It is a good thing that I want to cocoon because the sun sets early (just past three) and it is getting increasingly cold so the outdoors activities are limited. I have bought a lot of oranges and candles to chase the darkness away.

Back at home. It is past midnight which means..

..that it is Erik's first fathers day! <3

Tonight; wine tasting at Marcus' place!

Interesting how everyone picked the most expensive wine as their favourite, without even knowing the price beforehand. Good to get proof that sometimes you get what you pay for..

Coffee at Marcus' mom's place.

Oliver and I met Marcus and Leon (his sister's son) at Kulturhuset earlier today. Marcus was babysitting so we joined in. After a quick peek at some Christmas decorations we went for a coffee at the nearest coffee shop, but it was full so we just continued back to his mom's place where we had it instead. Leon is one year older than Oliver and it was fun to see how much babies develop in that short amount of time. Erik has just arrived to pick us up so we can go home and have dinner now.

Or now?

Not right now? Ok I suck my thumb in the meantime.

Uah! Give me food!

Snow, ice and hiking boots.

The first "real" snow (the kind that doesn't melt right away) fell two days ago and I haven't been out on any walks since then. Yesterday I went by my workplace and it was really hard to get there in high heeled boots. Today I had to take Oliver for his two month check up (or in his case, 9 weeks and 4 days) in Solna center. That is a 30 minute walk. This time I was bright enough to dig up my hiking boots that I wore on Svalbard when we visited in 2009. It turned out to be a very good thing since my feet stayed warm and dry and I didn't slip so much on the icy parts of the pavement. Oliver's check up went really well too. He is now 5610g and 58,5cm tall and the doctor thought that everything looked just as it supposed to. In one and a half month Oliver has gained 1,8kg so he is really making up for his low(ish) birth weight!

Thomas Söderlund with his family.

Kudos to Thomas and those who made this project happen. The opening was a nice gathering. There were more relatives than Thomas present so even I knew people there. There was also a buffe with drinks, showing of the rooms, a DJ (mr Raz from former "Rob n Raz") and some fancy Bentleys and Koenigsegg cars to look at.

Erik, Oliver and I went together. A good Monday night activity!

Attending the opening of a new Connect hotel on Kungsholmen.

One of Erik's relatives is one of the two owners of the hotels. For that reason we were invited to attend the opening. It was really nice! A lower price range, brand spanking new with a cool design but without the expensive designer furniture. The rooms are a bit smaller than the average but that is well made up in price. The location is also great, close to the city center. Haha.. I sound like an advertisement!
