Saturday March 28, dinner at home, with (partly) other guests!

Magnus and Olivia.
I made dinner both Friday and Saturday, which has never in our almost seven year history happened before. And it was good. And Erik didn't freak out that he didn't had the power over the menue or the cooking. All good!
Melissa and Olivia.
I love tulips!

Marcus loves chocolate and kept tempting me all night with that bowl.. So not nice!

Here we go again.. Friday March 27, dinner at home.

Marcus is back from the middle east, at least for a week. Since Erik is working away most of the working week, he got himself comfortable in our guestroom for the weekend. Nina relaxed from a hard day at work.
That Filur is getting really pampered! Erik doesn't spare his love when it comes to this doggie...
We all did our best in Sing Star later in the evening and Marcus took it to his little heart to win. He didn't. Why? Because I rock!!! Hehehe... No shame Marcus, you could star in a musical if you should get tired of touring the world on your motorcycle..
While Erik was pampering Filur, I took good care of Nina's bag..

Filur finally took a nap in Herman's lap. This dog leads a very comfortable life!

Budapest, March 20

I flew all alone to Budapest on Friday, landed around noon and took a cab to my relative Anna-Mária's place. We spent a lot of time in the West End mall and on Andrássy út. At the latter I was greatly tempted to blow all my money in LV and/or Gucci, but was held back by my good sense. Damnd that good sense, it spoils all the fun... Anyways, we had planned to go out for a crazy partynight in the Budapest night, but after seven hours of shopping and walking around town, our feet were killing us (let me see you do a shopping marathon in high heels and still be ready to dance your feet off!!), so we decided for a very calm and sensible night at the movies. All in all it was a very nice day.

Budapest, March 21

Erik arrived before I did to the hotel and he took the opportunity to go to the spaa for a bath and a massage. He was very relaxed when Anna-Mária and I took him to lunch.
Back from lunch we found this big party sitting in the hotel lobby area. It was a loud and happy lot!
Mom with the first, but certainly not last, glass of champaigne on this trip.
One of dad's aunts and his cousins just happened to be in Budapest this weekend and they decided to join us for a drink. A very good decision!
The cousins. They normally live in Belgrade so it was really a great coincidence that they also were in the vincinity. They went all the way only to shop at IKEA. I guess that the love for IKEA runs in the family..?

"Small-Zoli" and "Big-Zoli", to the left and right. My brother is of course the small one and the big one is our "extra granddad". But the big one is not to be messed around with, he has been in la Légion Étrangère. Just so you know...
Sister and her boyfriend.
The twins. Hard to tell, right?
Dinner at TGI's; the only place that you didn't have to have a reservation for at nine o'clock in the evening...
The happy, celebrating bunch!

Budapest, 2009 March 22, Mom's 50th birthday!

We started the day off with champagne for breakfast and presents for mom.
Dad's present was this handmade ring (the big one) that he designed himself and did the work on, beside the stone setting.
The presents! Right after breakfast mom got a massage. She also got earrings, a watch and a camera with a bag.
Mom and dad!
Erik and I.
A somewhat tired little brother, Zoli.

After the massage dad had another surprise for mom; he had his cousin drive my grandfather and grandmother from Zombor (i.e. Sombor, SRB) so that we could be toghether for the day. Here is Mami and mom.
Tati and I. He said that this was the best picture, because it had us in it! ;)
Group picture of the close family. One of dad's aunts, Ágnes, who normally lives in Germany, was accidentally also in Zombor and decided to tag along with Mami, Tati and dad's cousin Oszkár (aka. Buster). Another nice surprise!
Mom with her parents. Tati and Mami, for me that is.
Tati had had his birthday just a couple of days before, he turned 75, so we decided to surprise him with a couple of gifts aswell and a toast!

Little sister Mónika with her boyfriend Per, who has to be one of the most considerate of boyfriends. We like!
In the evening mom and dad's friends, our "step grandparents" in Sweden (not really but they fill the spot quite nicely), Ágnes and Zoltán (the big Zoli, not the small one, that is my brother.. confusing?) took us all out to a very nice restaurant called Kárpátia. There was gypsy music, champagne and goose liver all over and it was a splendid evening!
Here is Ági with dad. We celebrated the birthday of Ági the day after, so it was champagne for breakfast then also. I do like the continental breakfast!

"Big"-Zoli with mom.
A fiddle in her ear and mom can't sit still.. She was singing and dancing all night long, to the great enjoyment of the other guests. She has that from Mami, they are just alike. Mami kept asking me on my wedding for when the dancing would start, she couldn't stand all the long, oh so Scandinavian, ceremonial speaches...

Our relative from Dávod, Anna-Mária, along with "little"-Zoli.
This is how happy mom gets when she hears a couple of hungarian songs and operettes!
She made good use of her new toy, the birthday camera.

Budapest, Monday 23 March

Went to a new shopping mall (Arena Plaza) but ended up looking more at Petra's ten month old baby than at the goods..
Petra and Dániel.
I am sooo relaxed around kids... NOT!

Dani found something interesting, just went for it and grabbed it. He is such a boy...
A cute boy, that is!

On Tuesday I was left all alone in Budapest, so I went for a food safari. I can never say no to ice cream in adorable cafés..
If I ever have a shop, the interior will look something like this. Just imagine pretty shoes, looking just like candy and presented as such, but with less calories. Divine!
Here, I though of my grandmother...
Mami, itt rád gondoltam!
I couldn't resist to eat a couple more of my favourite pastry, pogácsa, so I went to the food market and got a whole bunch that served as lunch. My favourite salami brand is in the background aswell... Although failing to bring some home along with goose liver and Tokaji, I was very happy with my stay.
