Budapest, 2009 March 22, Mom's 50th birthday!

We started the day off with champagne for breakfast and presents for mom.
Dad's present was this handmade ring (the big one) that he designed himself and did the work on, beside the stone setting.
The presents! Right after breakfast mom got a massage. She also got earrings, a watch and a camera with a bag.
Mom and dad!
Erik and I.
A somewhat tired little brother, Zoli.

After the massage dad had another surprise for mom; he had his cousin drive my grandfather and grandmother from Zombor (i.e. Sombor, SRB) so that we could be toghether for the day. Here is Mami and mom.
Tati and I. He said that this was the best picture, because it had us in it! ;)
Group picture of the close family. One of dad's aunts, Ágnes, who normally lives in Germany, was accidentally also in Zombor and decided to tag along with Mami, Tati and dad's cousin Oszkár (aka. Buster). Another nice surprise!
Mom with her parents. Tati and Mami, for me that is.
Tati had had his birthday just a couple of days before, he turned 75, so we decided to surprise him with a couple of gifts aswell and a toast!

Little sister Mónika with her boyfriend Per, who has to be one of the most considerate of boyfriends. We like!
In the evening mom and dad's friends, our "step grandparents" in Sweden (not really but they fill the spot quite nicely), Ágnes and Zoltán (the big Zoli, not the small one, that is my brother.. confusing?) took us all out to a very nice restaurant called Kárpátia. There was gypsy music, champagne and goose liver all over and it was a splendid evening!
Here is Ági with dad. We celebrated the birthday of Ági the day after, so it was champagne for breakfast then also. I do like the continental breakfast!

"Big"-Zoli with mom.
A fiddle in her ear and mom can't sit still.. She was singing and dancing all night long, to the great enjoyment of the other guests. She has that from Mami, they are just alike. Mami kept asking me on my wedding for when the dancing would start, she couldn't stand all the long, oh so Scandinavian, ceremonial speaches...

Our relative from Dávod, Anna-Mária, along with "little"-Zoli.
This is how happy mom gets when she hears a couple of hungarian songs and operettes!
She made good use of her new toy, the birthday camera.
